Flamingo Sunset

Hi there CIP fans!  I have another Valentine card to share with you today, and I've used lots of shimmer and sparkle from the Creative Inspirations Paint store.  I started by embossing the image with the Deliquesce Black embossing powder on watercolor paper.  For the sunset I've used the Inspirations paints in Sunshine, Buttercup, Mango, Orange, and Pumpkin.  I've glittered the flowers and leaf with Resplendence Burgundy and Angel Dust, and then added a bit of bling with the clear Jeweled Inspirations in two sizes (SS30 and SS34).

Paint the Sky...

Recently we have been getting rain in our area, and I was wishing for some sunshine. I didn't get it in reality, but I do have some sunshine for you in the form of a canvas. Of course there are loads of Creative Inspirations Paints on this canvas which I made in a short time. I thought this would look cute in a white frame in my daughters room. It matches a lot of the colors in her room... very colorful!

In order to achieve this look, I first decoupaged old hymnal pages and sewing patterns to my canvas. After they dried, I added some acrylic and translucent paints in blues and greens for the sky and grass. I used my water bottle to thin them out more so that I could still see the music on the page. Once my paints had dried, that was when I added my CI Paints. I used Green Olive for the grass, and Amethyst, Sea Foam, Buttercup, Lavender, Mango, Sky Blue and Rose Quartz on the sky. After the paints had dried, I used some modeling paste to make clouds and painted over them with white acrylic paint. Stamps were used for more texture, doodles with a sketch pen, and the quote "Paint the sky your favorite color" as my final addition.   I was trying to achieve something similar to a setting sun, or a rising sun. I think in this case, it is more of a rising sun. It came out very child like and whimsical which really works for Serenity's room. I wasn't sure if I liked it, but I think I do now!

The paints really shimmer in the light when they are hit just right. I love it. Serenity adores any of my projects with Creative Inspirations Paint. She says they are sparkly!

Here are a few close ups of the canvas.

If you remember, Kassi shared an awesome tutorial on using tissue paper with your CI Paints HERE. I used her tips in the tutorial for this canvas! Be sure to check it out!

And here is my paint palette of CI Paints in the piece.

Thank you for stopping by today! I will see you soon!

PLEASE READ~ IMPORTANT CHANGES
Before we share this week's challenge I want to remind you of some changes that have come to the Inspired By Challenges. Instead of having a new challenge posted every week, we are going to have 2 challenges a month  and each challenge will remain open for 2 weeks. That way it will give everyone plenty of time to enter our challenges. On the weeks that the new challenges are not posted, we will share reminders about that challenge and any other news going on with CI Paint.
Also instead of allowing only 1 entry into the challenges, there will now be no limit....so have fun and link up!
-----------------------

This week's challenge is:
Inspired By: Anything Goes
Here's some inspiration:
For my card I used Creative Inspirations Paint in Tutu and Fairy Dust to add some sparkle and shimmer to the hearts as well as the hearts on my cute giraffe.
The sentiment was stamped with Tim Holtz Gathered Twigs and heat embossed with a mix of Deliquesce Clear embossing powder and Resplendence Angel Dust glitter (a FAV combo of mine....it gives the sparkle of the glitter with the look of the heat embossing)

I hope you have enjoyed my project and will play along with our challenge!!
Remember you do not need to use CI Paints on your projects but if you have them we would LOVE to see how you used them!!
As always thanks for stopping by and
have a great week!
~Jessica~

good ol' fashion burlap...

Hello my wonderful friends!
Can I just say that I am loving burlap???  It has a fantastic texture, and takes paint in a uniquely wonderful way! For the very bare basics of burlap and Creative Inspirations paint, you can simply brush the paint on to add beautiful color and shimmer to the fabulously textured fabric. Simple and effective. I didn't really think you needed a step by step photo of that one seeing as it would be all of one photo... LOL!

Going just a bit further, while staying sweet and simple, let do some cutting!  Now, you can hand cut if you are good with scissors, but I wanted to play with dies, so here we go....

Step 1: Brush on some gesso.... This step is optional, but it does serve two purposes... first, it helps stabilize the loose weave so it won't unravel when it is cut, second, the white will help the color of the CI paint really pop!

Step 2: Sandwich your burlap between two pieces of regular paper. This just helps cut the fibers better for some reason. It also helps them to not get stuck in the plastic cutting mat. Very helpful. Place the die on top of the top paper and run through your machine like usual
*NOTE: When choosing a die, keep in mind that the weave of burlap is loose. Detailed dies, or dies with thin areas will not cut well, or will simply fall apart. Choose bold designs for better results*

Step 3: Paint on your favorite Creative Inspirations color... See how even the light Lavender shows up beautifully because of the gesso?  And the texture! *swoon!!!*

Now, you can stop here if you want.... it does look fabulous!  However, if you are going for a more tattered or shabby look...

Step 4: Use your finger nail to gently fray the edges until you have the desired shabby look. Because of the gesso, you have control over how tattered and frayed you let it get. If you don't gesso it, it will just fray to it's heart's content without any help from you.

Don't you just want to touch it???

And it's so shimmery and shiny!

Well... That is a super simple way to begin incorporating burlap and Creative Inspiration paint into your crafting! I've got more ideas to play with, and the burlap beside my computer is calling to me...

Enjoy!

Fun Techniques on Tags!

Happy Friday!
Michelle is here today sharing a extra post!
I created two tags today each with a quick and fun technique!
The first tag after I added some distress ink to the background I used
a dropper with some water and Tickled Pink CI Paint.
I love the how the paint drips, adds some fun splashes of color & shimmer!
The heart I added some amazing CI Replendence glitter
 in the color Regal Red!

For the 2nd tag I first covered the background
 with some glossy gel medium.
Once you add the paint you have some areas that resist the paints thats where you see the white showing through under the paint!
After the gel dries I used Tutu Pink and Blush over the top of the gel.
I then used a stencil and added some modeling paste.
For the flower I used Amethyst, the stem Emerald, and the leaf Sage CI Paints. The butterfly I used CI paint in Rose Quartz.
A close up picture of the sparkle are below.
These techniques are not new but I wanted to share how well the CI paints work with the gel medium and the modeling paste!
The Creative Inspirations paints are so versatile and easy to use that is why I love creating with them!
Here is the link to the store to view some more amazing CI paint colors!!

Thank you for visiting the CI paints blog!
Have a wonderful weekend!

CIP - Puppy Love Valentine

Hi there CIP friends!  I'm busy working on my Valentine cards and practicing with the Creative Inspirations Paint embossing powders.  I have to say that I stopped using embossing powders years ago because I couldn't get them to melt nicely, but the Deliquesce powders melt perfectly in seconds!  It really helps with keeping the colors from spreading with the distress coloring.  How great is that?

I pulled out some of my older stamps to get use out of.  So I've used the Deliquesce Black on the stamped image, and then used the Garnet, Aqua Marine, and Winter Frost on the flowers.
Here are the CIP products that I've used:

Inspired By: Favorite Stamp - Bonjour Card

Hi CIP fans!  Dana here today sharing a card in keeping with the Favorite Stamp challenge theme this week. The formula of CI paints makes adding color to small areas a breeze. Each square image on my card measures less than one-inch.

As always, the color, coverage and shimmer of CI paints is fabulous!

I took my color palette for this card directly from the top of the stamp: Garnet, Rustic Red, Rose Quartz, Autumn Wheat, Raw Sienna, Burnt Sienna, Sage, Lavender and Antique Silver.  The range of colors offered by Creative Inspirations is wonderful and I easily selected my paints for this project, no mixing required!

I hope you have enjoyed my project and will play along with the challenge this week at Creative Inspirations Paint! You do not need to use CI paints on your projects, but if you have them, we would love to see how you used them. Thanks for stopping by and have a great week!

FIESTA with Creative Inspiration Paints

Good Morning Friends,

This is DIANA L. from DL.ART  to show you how I play with Creative Inspiration Paints, products.  I say play because it is so much fun it certainly doesn't seem like work. I knew I was going to use the jeweled inspirations from the beginning.  I really wanted my card to look like a FIESTA, I think with the Creative Inspiration products. It certainly does

Look at all the fun elements. The sculpted leaves at the top left  were painted with Shimmering sage paint

10 jeweled inspiration rhinestones around the sound hole of the guitar

At the very top I  mixed the silver resplendence (glitter) with glue and dropped it with a tool to look like silver dots

I did the same at the bottom, but decided I wanted a different color, so I painted them with  shimmering copper.  This was the final step on my card

I used creative inspiration, jeweled inspirations (rhinestones), because they come with glue on them all I needed to do was use may heat tool to attach them.

Creative inspiration products used
10 jeweled clear jeweled inspirations
Resplendence silver glitter
Creative inspiration shimmering: copper paint on top of silver glitter
                                                 sage on sculpted leaves

Remember we also have a challenge going on right now inspired by your favorite stamp. You have a chance to win some CI paints

Thanks for stopping by and have a blessed day, Diana
